The Role

The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive the development of its payment platform and merchant-facing portal. This is a hands-on role where the engineer will work on backend systems, infrastructure, testing, and observability.

The platform, built with Python and Vue.js and running on Google Cloud, is already live and processing transactions. The role involves developing new features, optimizing performance, and contributing to the platform’s ongoing evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance a cloud-based payment system
• Develop new features for merchants and optimize transaction flows
• Improve platform reliability, security, and scalability
• Work across the stack, focusing on backend development with Python
• Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps using Terraform and CI/CD
• Collaborate with the team to make key technical and architectural decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is pragmatic, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. They can balance speed with quality and are comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years in software development
• Strong backend skills in Python
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of databases and database administration
• Familiarity with CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech, payments, or SaaS
• Frontend experience with Vue.js or React
• Understanding of fraud detection, payment routing, or data science
• Previous startup experience
