With roots in the Netherlands, they are registered as a crypto broker with local regulatory authorities and currently serve customers across more than 10 European countries. What They’re Looking For
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Trading to lead their trading team and oversee all trading operations. This individual will play a critical role in developing strategies to drive trading performance, enhance liquidity, and manage risk. The position also involves leading a team of traders, optimizing market-making activities, and working closely with senior leadership to ensure trading operations align with the company’s broader business goals. This is a high-impact role in a fast-growing, competitive, and rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement trading strategies to optimize liquidity, improve spreads, and enhance platform performance across multiple crypto assets.
• Manage and mentor a team of traders, fostering high performance and continuous development.
• Monitor market trends and conditions to identify new opportunities and risks, sharing insights with leadership.
• Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to protect assets in volatile markets.
• Collaborate with technical teams to refine trading algorithms and improve overall platform functionality.
• Track and analyze trading performance metrics, including profit/loss, liquidity, and transaction volumes, and present findings to senior management.
• Work with compliance and product teams to ensure trading strategies align with regulations and company objectives.
• Oversee market-making activities to maintain adequate liquidity for various crypto pairs.
• Stay ahead of advancements in trading technologies and strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

What They’re Looking For in a Candidate

• Experience: At least 7 years in trading, with expertise in cryptocurrency or digital asset markets. Background in financial markets, asset management, or proprietary trading is highly valued.
• Leadership: Proven experience (3+ years) managing and growing trading teams, with a track record of motivating and mentoring others.
• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of crypto and traditional financial markets, including market-making, arbitrage, and trading algorithms.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative abilities and the capacity to make quick, data-driven decisions. Experience with trading performance analysis and risk management.
• Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with trading platforms, APIs, and algorithmic trading. Experience with high-frequency trading is a bonus.
• Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of KYC, AML, and market conduct regulations relevant to crypto trading.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present strategies and metrics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience is also considered.
• Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
